Here are a few of my fav’s if you are interested in joining the wave of “I must read more books in 2019”! I’ve been known to have a large library of self-improvement books over the years. Too the point a few years after my divorce, I woke up one morning, packed the entire collection into a box and dropped off at our local used book store. That hasn’t stopped me from downloading on Audible over the years or still reading as many as I can. So this year – I’ve decided on Fiction and Memoirs! Look at me changing 🙂
Instagram has been a huge inspiration for choosing some of these books. A few ladies in town have started a book club and we read one book a month – an easy goal I think! So here are my picks for the best books to read for 2019!
Starting off the New Year with some personal and some business! Maybe a little more personal 🙂 …
Clearly we all go into a New Year thinking positive motivational ideas and analyzing our objectives and goals. I will read 20 books! I will lose 20 pounds! I will get up earlier! …
I think every single advertisement lately on Instagram has been related to self awareness or getting a lean body in just 21 days! I will admit I have hit CLICK HERE or LEARN MORE a few times in the past week. I’ve analyzed a treadmill running app and have entered my email address for more info on a digital business that has changed lives. Does it really? Not sure! Ha!
I am THAT person who love’s to de-clutter every spring and fall! It actually gets me excited! I have 3 to 4 rubbermaid bins that go back and forth from our storage unit. Every fall when I pull out all my winter clothes – it’s like Christmas – I had forgotten all the items I had! I’m famous for buying shoes on clearance and when I open up the bins I usually have boots with tags still on that I got for a steal back in March! Yippee!
A small heritage home in downtown Penticton that had gone thru some previous renovations. It had become a rental home for quite a few years and was pretty run down. The birch hardwood was about 7 years and was destroyed so we sadly had to remove. We had rented our home out for 8 weeks with plans to move into this place and do a few updates over July/August. End goal was to be a vacation rental home. After I cried on the initial walk through, we had to move to a friends place for 2 weeks while we tore out all flooring and kitchen. Two weeks later and some fresh paint, I grabbed a bunch of area rugs and threw some beds up and we moved in. Living with a fridge on the patio and a BBQ, I washed dishes in the bath tub in a big bucket! It was a very glamorous summer!
January 2018 we traveled to San Juan Del Sur, Nicaragua. aka Nica! We usually go to Mexico so this was a change for us. We researched flights for quite a few months and flying into Liberia, Costa Rica was the most affordable for us. Seven and half hours later we arrived in Liberia. We were staying at a friends place in Nica so he had arranged a driver for us. It’s about an hour drive to the Libera/Nica border. If you are thinking Canadian/US style border – think again. They are run down buildings with water damage, the screening of luggage was a foldable wooden table. You have to get out of your car on Costa Rica side and go through their border crossing, then walk across to the Nicaragua building. Which was quite interesting as it was now 8PM and dark. Basically we were flying by the seat of our pants and by the time the whole process ended we were laughing. It was out a movie. One hour later we arrived in Nica. Were we happy to see a Tona! The local beer. Its delicious by the way.
