I first tried an Aperol Spritzer last year in Mexico. Our friend Timo handed us one when we arrived at his condo in Nuevo. Since then I seem to see recipes everywhere! Being a fan of bubble – why not share a fun recipe that really is great anytime of the year!
Aperol Spritz is one of the most popular aperitifs in Italy and it’s tasting and refreshing. Aromatic with citrus and slightly bitter, Aperol pairs perfectly with chilled prosecco. It’s easy to make as it is to drink and perfect for any occasion. That’s alot of great reasons the Aperol Spritz is making a comeback and can easily be replicated anywhere.
You can simply add sparkling wine and Aperol together or you can have some more fun with it! Garnish with oranges, fresh graperfruit, passion fruit seeds or any seasonal fruit! You can even add a splash of soda too! Winter additions are cranberries and a rosemary sprig!
PS – This is a great gift too!! Happy Mixing!
- 1 ounces Aperol
- 4 ounces Prosecco (or any sparkling wine)
- 1.5 ounces of freshly squeezed grapefruit juice
- ½ ounces vodka
- Splash of club soda
- Whole grapefruit & rind to make twists Ice
- Combine the prosecco, passion fruit juice, and Aperol in a white-wine glass, and stir. Add ice, and garnish with passion fruit seeds. You can also garnish with a slice of almost any fresh fruit, according to season. A slice of orange or peach would be good. Serve immediately.
