10 Tips to Organize Your Closet.

“Owning Less is Better than Organizing More…”

I am THAT person who love’s to de-clutter every spring and fall!  It actually gets me excited!  I have 3 to 4 rubbermaid bins that go back and forth from our storage unit.  Every fall when I pull out all my winter clothes – it’s like Christmas – I had forgotten all the items I had!  I’m famous for buying shoes on clearance and when I open up the bins I usually have boots with tags still on that I got for a steal back in March! Yippee!

Shabby Chic Renovation

A small heritage home in downtown Penticton that had gone thru some previous renovations.  It had become a rental home for quite a few years and was pretty run down.  The birch hardwood was about 7 years and was destroyed so we sadly had to remove.   We had rented our home out for 8 weeks with plans to move into this place and do a few updates over July/August.  End goal was to be a vacation rental home.  After I cried on the initial walk through, we had to move to a friends place for 2 weeks while we tore out all flooring and kitchen.  Two weeks later and some fresh paint,  I grabbed a bunch of area rugs and threw some beds up and we moved in.  Living with a fridge on the patio and a BBQ,  I washed dishes in the bath tub in a big bucket! It was a very glamorous summer!

San Juan Del Sur, Nicauragua

January 2018 we traveled to San Juan Del Sur, Nicaragua.  aka Nica! We usually go to Mexico so this was a change for us.  We researched flights for quite a few months and flying into Liberia, Costa Rica was the most affordable for us.  Seven and half hours later we arrived in Liberia.  We were staying at a friends place in Nica so he had arranged a driver for us.  It’s about an hour drive to the Libera/Nica border.  If you are thinking Canadian/US style border – think again.  They are run down buildings with water damage, the screening of luggage was a foldable wooden table.  You have to get out of your car on Costa Rica side and go through their border crossing, then walk across to the Nicaragua building.   Which was quite interesting as it was now 8PM and dark.   Basically we were flying by the seat of our pants and by the time the whole process ended we were laughing.   It was out a movie.   One hour later we arrived in Nica.  Were we happy to see a Tona! The local beer.  Its delicious by the way.

Spring Fashion

Oh yes! Spring is finally here! Bust out the Birkenstocks & the pale white skin!

There are so many articles on spring fashion and I don’t think I need to list 50 outfits or I may lose you! lol  Here are a few of my staples that I think are timeless and I hope won’t ever go out of style.   Sometimes less is more when you hit my age (old) and it’s not about wearing that specific trend.
